Jaclyn Altieri

Jaclyn, like so many artists, re-examined life during the covid shutdown. Her vibrant portraits capture life’s whimsy and motion, attempting to reflect the complex nature of personality. The play of color and form drives her new work. Each piece comes with its bio— forming an imagined world of friends and acquaintances—that live in the multi-layered, color-drenched plane of existence, living out their lives parallel to ours. She paints in her seaside home near her favorite backdrop, Moonstone beach in Wakefield, Rhode Island, where the water has left pebbles formed by time into tiny moons to be loved by this generation.
